Experiencing Architecture by Steen Eiler Rasmussen is a book that I assigned to beginning architecture students when I taught at Boston Architectural College. Each chapter is based on a different element of architecture, such as Solids and Cavities or Rhythm. Prior to traveling to Italy with my teenage granddaughter, I wrote this travel guide using the general structure and the chapter themes of Experiencing Architecture, but focusing on buildings in Rome, Venice, Florence, and other parts of Italy.
